Catalyzing a Financially Stable Workforce: How to Choose the Right Financial Wellness Program for Employees

Sep 19, 2017 – 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

More Info

With many American workers so stressed about money that their health is suffering and they have trouble concentrating on their jobs, employers are getting some advice on how to help.

The Center for Social Development (CSD) at the Brown School of Social Work is hosting a conference bringing together researchers, employers, and financial wellness plan (FWP) providers offering insights into workplace FWPs.

Financial wellness services are often focused on saving for retirement. Researchers at CSD, however, say such services also could help low- and moderate-income workers in need of immediate help, such as financial counseling, short-term loans or accrued wage advances.

Attendees at the September 19 conference will learn about the current financial status of the American workforce, what workplace FWPs are, why they are beneficial for employers, how to select an FWP, and how to foster internal approval and support for an FWP.

The conference, from 8:30 4:30 p.m. in Hillman Hall’s Clark-Fox Forum at Washington University in St. Louis, is free and open to the public.
