A 3-part Seminar Series has been organized by Teresa Pedigo, with AdviCoach, and a team of experts in a variety of professions to share some insight on areas you may not have encountered yet, previous issues where you weren't sure how to handle, or what the best practice would be in the situation. Pedigo is a graduate of Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. She spent 23 years in the financial services industry as a Bank Examiner with the OCC; Director of Compliance for three banks, a mortgage company and an auto leasing company; and as a Director of Financial Services in a large consulting firm. She received two merit awards at the OCC; earned three certifications while working for the consulting firm; and was named Executive of the Year in Banking Compliance in 2010. Teresa also served as a lead instructor for the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA), where bankers attend to obtain a Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer’s (CCBCO) certification. Teresa works with Business Owners/Entrepreneurs to help them set goals, create action plans to reach those goals, and provides accountability to keep the owner on track to meet their goals. Teresa was raised as a farmer’s daughter in Central Illinois, where the dirt is black. This is where her entrepreneurial roots first started to grow. Like most farm kids, her first job (besides babysitting) was walking beans—soybeans, not green beans. It taught her the importance of hard work to get what you want, along with the importance of managing wages earned. In addition, Teresa learned the criticality of attention to detail, pride, and integrity, which should be the heart of any business. At the age of 16, she began working for farmer as an Office Manager for his grain, hog, trucking, and corn dryer supply/repair operations. This included doing payroll (by hand) and completing quarterly sales tax reports, while dispatching trucks and selling dryer parts. Teresa remains incredibly grateful to both her father and this farmer for what she learned early in life which prepared her for her future business career. Teresa moved to Fairview Heights in 1991. She has been active in fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, and serves as a Board Member for Call For Help, Inc. She is also a member of the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce and Belleville BNI. Besides business, her passions include shoes, wine, fitness and her Yorkie, Paisley. Dr. Kathleen Roche, FEATURED KEY NOTE SPEAKER, owns and operates a successful chiropractic franchise, HealthSource, America’s Chiropractor. She treats her patients like family and respects their healthcare choices. She really listens to the patients. Ever since Vocational training in High School, I’ve been interested in electronics. From HS I joined the US Navy and worked on the Ships Inertial Navigation systems (SINS). I started my civilian career with NCR in 1980. There I learned to troubleshoot all types of business computer systems including: Point-of-Sale, Hospitality, Banking (proof equipment, ATMs, teller terminals),as well as early Personal Computers. In 1990 I started with a company as a technical Instructor and trained field service technicians. In the late 90s, I became a project manager involved in the installation of network infrastructure for companies such as Best Buy and Nordstrom. In 2012, I, along with 100 of my colleagues, found ourselves the victims of outsourcing. I decided at that point to start my own computer repair business.
